How to measure a gas strut.
- Measure the Extended Length (A) in milimetres.
- Measure the Stroke (B) in milimetres.
- Measure the Piston Rod Diameter (C) in milimetres.
- Measure the Case Diameter (D) in milimetres.
- Check the Force (N) noted in newtons on the sticker.
Example: Our 1500N Tailgate Strut has an Extended Length (A) of 830mm, a Stroke (B) of 360mm, a Piston Rod Diameter (C) of 14mm, a Case Diameter (D) of 28mm and a Force (N) of 1500N. We express this information as 830/360S 14/28 1500N, with the “S” meaning stroke and “N” meaning newtons.
