In the mid 60’s Bill decided to travel around Australia with their trailers and soon became renowned for having the best float at the right price. After a few years on the road Bill decided to return to Head Office, then based in Sydney, where it was located for forty plus years.
In the mid 80’s, Bill’s son Craig joined the company at a factory level and fast became the head of design. Craig’s innovations took Kara Kar to an even higher level. Now, even more than in those earlier years, the family-owned and run Kara Kar has cemented its reputation in upholding the benchmark in horse floats. Practicality and safety is of the highest priority. After 60 plus years Kara Kar is still renowned for its product reliability and affordability.
In the late 90’s Kara Kar moved to a more central location in Nambucca Heads, New South Wales. Not only did this move create more convenience with the delivery of floats Australia wide, it also boosted the economy and created jobs for a town with one of the highest unemployment rates in NSW.
Experience safety, quality, and comfort in every build. From concept to completion, we create the perfect float for you.
You are interested in buying a new horse float, and lucky us, you are considering Kara Kar. Maybe it is your first Kara Kar, maybe it is your 5th. There are a few places to start the process. You can give us a call and have a chat with our Sales team. You can submit an enquiry on the website or reach out on our social media pages. Our Sales team will give you a call to discuss your needs and to make sure that the float you order is the float you dreamed of. After the discussion, our Sales Team will email you a quote to outline the expected cost of your float, optional extras and applicable on road costs.
If you are happy with the quote you are sent, you can sign it and return it with a 20% deposit of the total. This secures your order in our production line up. Congratulations! You have purchased a Kara Kar! The deposit date is also the start of the timeframe of completion. Our admin team will contact you to request the details to register your float (we gather this information very early so that there are no hold ups at the other end, which means you get your new float faster). We won’t register it until the float is completed, but by having the info on hand, the process is smoother.
Our admin team will keep you updated with when payments are due, they will send you photos of your float being built and be on hand to help with any questions you might have throughout the build process.
Your new Kara Kar float is now finished. What next? Our admin team will arrange the registration of your float (QLD & NSW only). We will send through your final invoice and some photos of your finished float. Once payment has been made in full we will work with you to organise the handover of your new float here at our Nambucca Heads factory, or will point you in the right direction of some freight companies if you can’t make the journey to us.
